How Our Team Is Keeping Patients Safe

dental treatmentWe know that many people have canceled vacations, time with family, and even appointments with the dentist and doctor out of concern. We understand, but your Austin, MN, dentists also know that lack of routine care could mean serious oral health issues down the road. To help keep smiles safe, and protect patients from the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented a number of new protocols and technologies!

New Protocols

First, we’re limiting appointment times to ensure proper social distancing and to prevent people from sharing a packed waiting room. We will ask you a series of questions when you arrive to assess your risk of contracting COVID-19 prior to your visit. When you enter, we will require you wear a mask and have plenty of hand sanitizer available in the office. Our desk will have clear panels to protect our team members and patients, and our team will also be wearing PPE, including masks and face shields, gloves, and gowns.

Brand-New Technologies

We have also added a number of technologies and systems to help safeguard everyone’s health and safety. First, we have a high-volume building air-to-air exchanger, which refreshes and scrubs the air six times each hour. Our HVAC systems also have HEPA/Carbon Purifiers that use UVC light, which helps destroy viruses and bacteria in the air. When we have patients in the chair, we will use extra oral suction units to reduce aerosols present in the air, and Jade SCA systems to purify the air in the office. These systems help clean and purify the air and commonly touched surfaces thought the office multiple times a day, and often multiple times an hour.

Keep Your Smile Strong

Now that you know how safe our office is, and the steps we’re taking to keep it that way, you should consider scheduling a checkup and cleaning, especially if you haven’t since the pandemic started. After all, a simple checkup and clean means we can watch for smile for signs of trouble and offer personalized treatment plans. We also remove plaque from the teeth, which lowers the risk of teeth stains, bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease. If you have any questions about how we keep smiles strong and health, or the steps we’re taking to clean and disinfect every surface in our practice, then please contact our team today.
