Meet Dr. Richard L. Mitchell
I am passionate about providing the best care possible for all my patients and positively influencing their life. The most exciting part of my work is being able to change someone’s life by helping them improve and maintain their dental health. Working with so many unique people gives me insight into different ways of thinking about the world. I feel I can make a difference by helping my patients have self-confidence and a healthy smile.
Education and Experience
I attended St. John’s University for my undergraduate education, graduating in 1994 with my Bachelor of Arts degree. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 1999. Since then, I have attended numerous lectures and hands-on courses to keep current in the latest materials and techniques that dentistry has to offer. Continuing my education re-energizes my passion for dentistry.

We have a team that has been together for a long time and has the ability to interact with each other and our patients in a professional and caring manner. Our team gets to know our patients outside our office, which gives valuable insight in positively treating patient needs. They are treated as individuals while we provide high-quality, exceptional care.
Outside the Office
I grew up in Billings, MT, and now live in Austin with my wife, Barb, and our children, Anastasia, Dane, and Sydney. My time away from the office is often spent with my family, but I can be found on the golf course, hunting, and watching University of MN football and hockey. I also love to cook! Being involved with others helps build relationships and a better community. Because of this, I am active in our church, St. Augustine’s, and in our children’s school.
